About the Role
We are looking for a talented and dedicated Elementary Teacher to work with students aged 3-5 years. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students
- Collaborate with colleagues and the Principal to design and implement instructional strategies, curriculum, and data analysis
- Build strong relationships with families and staff to meet the social, emotional, and instructional needs of each student
- Utilize primary differentiated instructional strategies in reading, writing, and mathematics
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education and implement new instructional techniques
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic success
- Maintain accurate records and reports, utilizing computerized recordkeeping and reporting systems
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education
- A valid Alaska teaching certificate, or the ability to obtain one upon hire
- Successful experience with primary differentiated instructional strategies in reading, writing, and mathematics
- Strong knowledge of Early Childhood best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- A Master's degree in Education
- Attendance at the Literacy Institute and/or further training in the teaching of reading
- Successful preschool or primary teaching experience
- Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and database software
- Proficiency in the use of computerized recordkeeping and reporting systems
