As a Junior Test Prep Instructor at MasteryPrep, you will have the opportunity to teach engaging and impactful in-person lessons using our mastery-based ACT/SAT curriculum. You will inspire and motivate students with dynamic and interactive presentations, covering a variety of subject areas and focusing on specific strategies that are proven to help students succeed. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach engaging and impactful in-person lessons using MasteryPrep's curriculum for standardized exams like the ACT and SAT
- Inspire and motivate students with dynamic and interactive presentations that bring test prep content to life
- Cover a variety of subject areas, focusing on specific strategies that are proven to help students succeed
- Travel to various high schools in your area for in-person instruction, with all travel accommodations provided by MasteryPrep
- Participate in paid development training sessions starting in October to prepare for instruction
- Deliver instruction starting in January/February, with work opportunities anticipated through April
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university program (undergraduate or graduate -- all majors)
- Minimum ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1200
- Engaging and dynamic presentation style, comfortable speaking in front of large groups
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine passion for helping others
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm for education, and a desire to make a difference
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Availability to attend training sessions starting in October (paid) and deliver instruction starting in January/February
- Willingness to travel locally for in-person instruction
- A valid U.S. driver's license and access to a personal vehicle
- Currently residing in TX, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, NC, or SC
- Compassion for all learners, including those from diverse backgrounds and with different learning styles
- Deep belief in the potential of all students and a passion for MasteryPrep's mission

- Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring
- Strong knowledge of ACT/SAT content and test-taking strategies

- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
