Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in a fully remote Wisconsin school district position. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Providing instruction and support to students in a remote learning environment
- Collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive student support
- Assessing student progress and adjusting instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Communicating effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure student success
- Staying up-to-date with best practices in special education and incorporating new strategies and technologies into instruction
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Active SPED licensure in Wisconsin
- At least 1+ years of experience in special education, with a strong background in instructional design and delivery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in special education
Preferred Qualifications
We welcome applications from candidates with:
- Experience working with students with diverse needs, including autism, ADHD, and other disabilities
- Knowledge of and experience with remote learning platforms and technologies
- Experience with data-driven instruction and assessment
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to support and guide colleagues
- Fluency in a second language, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds
