As an Executive Underwriter, you will be responsible for driving the financial performance of a $7-10M book of upper-middle market, Property & Casualty business with a new business goal of $1.5M annually. You will identify opportunities for growth, develop and execute strategies to capture new business, and enhance relationships with key producers and customers. Core industries served include Manufacturing, Wholesale / Distribution, Professional Services, Cultural Institutions, Food Processing, and Real Estate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive new business growth, achieving an annual goal of $1.5M.
• Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within existing and new production sources.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive business growth strategy.
Manage market penetration efforts and cultivate strong producer and customer relationships.
• Formulate agency strategies and goals, regularly monitoring progress.
• Identify cross-sell opportunities among our commercial product offerings.
• Evaluate and select risks in alignment with Chubb Commercial Insurance guidelines, ensuring thorough documentation.
• Negotiate pricing, coverage, and terms for new business and renewals while identifying account rounding opportunities.
• Present sales proposals to producers and clients, including product education and rollout of new offerings.
• Maintain consistent service standards while collecting and sharing industry insights.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• In-depth knowledge of specialty commercial underwriting and insurance practices.
• Proven technical expertise in handling commercial insurance lines including Property, General Liability, Umbrella, Workers Compensation, and Commercial Auto.
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in financial analysis.
• Demonstrated success in sales, marketing, and negotiation.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in developing and executing marketing plans.
• Creative and adaptable in a dynamic business environment.
• Sound decision-making skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business software.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Package underwriting experience preferred.
