Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Representative III to work remotely with our brokerage team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in customs brokerage, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will have experience with US Customs Regulations, import procedures, and logistics operations. As a Customs Brokerage Representative III, you will be responsible for arranging the final delivery of international shipments, working with customers, and resolving issues related to customs clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange Final Delivery of International Shipments: Coordinate with logistics carriers to arrange for the timely pickup and delivery of international shipments.
- Customer Support: Work directly with customers in a support capacity, providing excellent customer service and maintaining professional relationships.
- Customs Clearance: Ensure that all shipments are cleared through US Customs in a timely and efficient manner, resolving any issues related to customs clearance.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve problems related to customs clearance, logistics, and transportation.
- Documentation: Prepare and coordinate documentation for shipments, including delivery instructions and customs forms.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with customers, logistics carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Time Management: Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure timely clearance of shipments.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of four years of experience in customs brokerage, logistics, or a related field.
- US Customs Regulations: Strong knowledge of US Customs Regulations and import procedures.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software systems, such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred:
- Air and Ocean Experience: Experience with air and ocean freight operations.
- Customs Broker License: Certified Customs Broker license.
- ACE/FDA Experience: Experience with Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
- BDIS, E2K, FGV, and BOSS: Experience with Brokerage Document Imaging System (BDIS), Transportation System (E2K), Flex Global View (FGV), and Brokerage Operations Support System (BOSS).
