Contract Lead Remote Duration: 12+ Months Pay rate: $35 - $60/Hr. Job Description: Position Summary The Contract Lead is responsible for providing end-to-end contract management support across the Procurement organization, ensuring supplier contracts are negotiated, reviewed, and executed in alignment with business goals, compliance standards, and evolving regulatory landscapes. The individual will serve as the primary point of contact for procurement contract activity, overseeing supplier negotiations, maintaining contract templates and clause libraries, and leveraging the company's Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system to drive efficiency, compliance, and visibility. This position requires a strong balance of acumen, commercial awareness, and supplier engagement skills. The role will partner closely with Procurement, Legal, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure contracts are commercially sound, risk-mitigated, and reflective of strategic Procurement objectives. Contract Management & Negotiation Review, draft, and negotiate supply agreements across direct, indirect, logistics, and contract manufacturing categories. Manage redlines and edits from suppliers, escalating complex legal issues to internal counsel as needed. Serve as the central contact for procurement contract matters, fostering positive supplier relationships while ensuring favorable contract outcomes. Support contract initiation, execution, and renewal processes, ensuring alignment with operational and business timelines. Compliance & Risk Oversight Interpret and apply new laws, regulations, and policies to contract language, risk assessments, and compliance requirements. Ensure contracts adhere to internal governance, regulatory frameworks, and supplier risk standards. Support compliance reporting, internal and external audits, and risk reviews. CLM System & Process Optimization Leverage CLM tools (e.g. Summize) to manage contract workflows, obligations, approvals, and renewals. Tag, track, and analyze contract metadata to support compliance audits, reporting, and Procurement decisions. Identify opportunities to enhance contract lifecycle processes and improve system utilization. Templates, Clauses & Knowledge Management Maintain and update standard templates and clause libraries to reflect regulatory and business changes. Collaborate with Legal and Procurement leaders to deploy new templates and contract standards. Support communication, training, and best practices to improve contract literacy across the Procurement team. Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with procurement, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of contract terms with strategic Procurement objectives. Support procurement-led initiatives requiring external supplier engagement and legal oversight. Develop strong working relationships to foster collaboration and ensure seamless contract execution. Education & Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Legal Studies, or related field (JD or paralegal certification a plus). 5+ years of experience in contract administration, Procurement, or procurement contracting (experience in med tech, pharma, or regulated industries preferred). Strong knowledge of procurement categories and supplier engagement models. Proficiency with CLM platforms and contract metadata management. Strong understanding of contract law, compliance requirements, and supplier risk management. Exceptional attention to detail, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
