Serve as the main contact for clients, providing regular updates and answering questions professionally and with empathy
Assist attorneys with file preparation, document collection, calendar management, and case tracking
Open, manage, and close case files according to firm procedures and legal requirements
Communicate with insurance companies, medical providers, and other parties to gather records and manage appointments
Draft legal correspondence, forms, and other documents under attorney supervision
Maintain accurate case notes and updates in the case management system
Prepare settlement packages and assist in claims negotiations when applicable
Ensure all documents comply with firm and legal standards
2+ years of experience as a Case Manager or Legal Assistant in a personal injury or workers’ compensation firm
Strong knowledge of litigation and claims processes (New York State experience preferred)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in legal software and Microsoft Office
Able to manage multiple priorities independently
