AWS ENGINEER (WITH PROJECT MANAGEMENT & SOC 2 EXPERIENCE)

Contract Remote 6-10 Years Apply Online Refer & Earn Referral Fee: $500.00 Job Summary/ Responsibilities About the Role We are seeking a hands-on AWS Engineer who also brings project coordination/management capabilities to support a Seattle-based technology startup. This resource will drive cloud engineering tasks, security compliance (SOC 2), and deliver results autonomously in a fast-paced environment. The role requires minimal supervision and strong ownership. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and manage scalable and secure AWS cloud environments • Implement and support SOC 2 compliance controls across cloud systems • Deploy, monitor, and improve CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure automation • Oversee and organize cloud engineering tasks and project timelines • Collaborate closely with a small engineering team to ensure deliverables stay on track • Perform operational support, troubleshooting, and enhancements as needed • Document architecture, configurations, and compliance evidence requirements Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of professional experience in AWS Cloud Engineering • Hands-on expertise with core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc.) • Strong background with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform / CloudFormation) • Experience working with SOC 2 frameworks, audits, policies, and technical controls • Familiarity with Cloud Security best practices (IAM governance, encryption, logging, etc.) • Ability to independently manage tasks, priorities, and deliverables in a startup environment • Solid project coordination skills — tracking timelines, risks, and updates Preferred Skills • Experience in fast-growth/early-stage startup environments • Knowledge in DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) • Monitoring/Observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, NewRelic, etc.) • Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) Soft Skills • Self-driven and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills • Effective communicator with the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders • High adaptability and ownership mindset Why This Opportunity • Work directly with a lean and innovative engineering team • Ability to meaningfully influence architecture, security posture, and delivery • Immediate impact with visibility to the leadership team How will you make an Impact?
