Co-operators is a leading Canadian financial services co-operative committed to sustainability and resilience. The Site Reliability Associate (SRA) role focuses on maintaining reliable and scalable software systems, ensuring smooth application operations and excellent user experience.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and availability, and take actions to rectify issues identified
- Respond promptly to incidents following predefined plans and procedures. It includes batch jobs, message queues, system integration components and end user reported incidents
- Analyze root causes of incidents following incident response plans
- Prevent future occurrences of incidents by fixing root causes and recovering damaged data
- Build effective monitor and alerts to discover errors
- Using development tools to analyze root causes of problems
- Develop tools that monitor the Eco system and enable self-diagnosis
- Adopt best practices, and continuously improve systems and processes to enhance reliability and performance
- Collaborate with teams like Policy Fulfilment and business stakeholders to determine feasibility and troubleshoot issues
- Work with external teams (e.g., DCM, Kyndryl) to integrate and optimize document services, providing assistance when needed
Skills
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with at least 1 year of experience in application support including development and operation
- Knowledge in software engineering, with proficiency in one or more programming languages
- Knowledge in system administration and managing production environments
- Proficiency in using monitoring and logging tools to track system performance and discover errors
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge with containerization technologies like Docker
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams effectively
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools as an asset
