Job title: Accountant - Entry-level Company: The Arc of Carroll County Job description: Description: The Arc Carroll County is looking for a full-time, entry-level Accountant to work at our headquarters in Westminster, MD. This is a great opportunity for a recent grad or someone with a couple years of experience looking to learn and grow with our organization. The Accountant will perform a variety of accounting activities related to billing, preparation of financial statements, and audits. We provide in-depth training in a great team environment. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. • One (1) or two (2) years of practical work experience in accounting preferred, but not required. • Proficiency in various types of computer software including spreadsheets, word processing and specialized accounting software. Accountant responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Learn, understand and keep current on the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) service definitions and billing guidelines. • Prepare funding budgets and ensure that all appropriate services have been included in individual plans. Update approved budgets in database. • Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to support billing for services. • Prepare monthly journal entries for DDA revenues. • Reconcile monthly bank statements. • Prepare monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts. • Review bi-weekly payroll timesheets and expense reports for accurate coding. • Coordinate maintenance and replacement of computer hardware and software, collaborating with IT consultant and software providers for service matters. • Cross-train on other departmental duties. • Assist with year-end audit. • Perform other duties as assigned.
