Job Details Job Location Corporate - Oneida, NY Position Type Full Time Salary Range $22.00 - $27.94 Hourly Job Shift Days Description The Professional Coder- Team Lead - is responsible to assist with supervising the coding team as well as participating in producing daily coding. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, communication skills, with the desire and ability to learn quickly. Working as a part of the team to meet deadlines, but also being able to work independently is crucial to the success in this position. Key Responsibilities: • Responsible for assisting with the day to day oversight of coding staff, which may include establishing staff schedules and deployment, reviewing employee time records and providing feedback to CBO Manager on coder performance. • Responsible for monitoring coding work queues. • Identifies discrepancies, potential quality of care, and billing issues. • Researches, analyzes, recommends, and facilitates plan of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors. • Analyzes medical records and identifies documentation deficiencies. • Act as a key player in the denial management team. • Serves as resource and subject matter expert to other coding staff. • Assists CBO Manager in orienting, training, and mentoring staff. • Provides ongoing training to staff as needed. • Handles special projects as requested. Qualifications Qualifications: Education: • CPC Certified or equivalent certified. • High School diploma (Required). Experience: • ICD-10 & CPT: 1 year (Preferred). • Medical Billing: 1 year (Preferred). • Experience working with any type of EMR (Essential). • Familiarity with MEDENT/MEDITECH (Preferred). • Previous supervisory experience (Preferred). Licenses and Certification: • One or more of the following: CPC, RHIT required or eligible. • Coding certification is required, but consideration will be given to eligible credentials. Professional Skills and Abilities: • Team player with effective collaboration skills. • Professionalism in all interactions. • Adaptability and acceptance of change. • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite. • Ability to function well in a busy environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptability, and professionalism. Work Location: • Remote also with some requirement to be on-site.
